Strides for Seniors Campaign

Every September, Detroit Area Agency on Aging, Detroit Parks and Rec, and St Patrick Senior Center power this month-long campaign celebrating our amazing neighborhood centers – “homes away from home” for thousands. During the month we promote activities across the city, video interviews with seniors, and the importance of meeting the needs of people 55+.

Dynamic, community-centered events and promotion:

▪ Fridays Live: Hosted at different centers each week, these events are attended by over 100 and feature food, live music, dance and exercise, free health screenings, and lots of fun

▪ Healthy Aging Expo: On the last Friday of the month, over 400 seniors, family and friends gather at Detroit’s Palmer Park for a morning of live music and dance, dozens of wellness vendors, a one-mile walk around the park, a boxed lunch, raffles and more!
