If you’re looking for meaningful work, or to increase your earnings – or both – St. Patrick Senior Center’s new Ageless Innovations is offering two unique opportunities, in partnership with the Thome Foundation.
There are two opportunities to increase your skills and your cash flow. If you’re open to short-term training for guaranteed employment, we’ve got you. If you’ve thought about opening a business and formalizing it, we’ve got that, too!
Entrepreneurship Training: If you want to open a store, sell handmade jewelry, even start a non-profit food pantry, this program is for you. You’ll learn everything – including registration, structuring and organizing, developing a business plan, marketing, financing and more. All sessions are held at St. Pat.
Community Health Worker Training: These certified positions help connect people needing health and social services with those who provide them – including outreach, maternity support, education, advocacy and informal counseling. Training is provided virtually by the Wayne State University Community Health Worker Academy; positions are employed part-time at non profits for $17 to $22 per hour.
Eligibility:
- Ages 55+
- Resident of Detroit or Highland Park
- A High School Diploma
