If you’re looking for meaningful work, or to increase your earnings – or both – St. Patrick Senior Center’s new Ageless Innovations is offering two unique opportunities, in partnership with the Thome Foundation.
You must be 55 or older and reside in Detroit or Highland Park to participate in these two programs:
Entrepreneurship Training: If you want to open a store, sell handmade jewelry, even start a non-profit food pantry, this program is for you. You’ll learn everything – including registration, structuring and organizing, developing a business plan, marketing, financing and more. All sessions are held at St. Pat.
Community Health Worker Training: These certified positions help connect people needing health and social services with those who provide them – including outreach, maternity support, education, advocacy and informal counseling. Training is provided virtually by the Wayne State University Community Health Worker Academy; positions are employed part-time at non profits for $17 to $22 per hour. A high school diploma is required.
