Nursing Students on Medicine Safety & Preventive Care

On Tuesday, March 22, Madonna University nursing students, under the direction of St. Pat’s Lisa Saigh, conducted another online session today, on medication safety and preventive care.

Medication safety topics included safe storage and reconciliation, when to talk to the doctor, brand names vs. generic, common side effects, and finding more cost-effective means meds.

The preventive care portion covered getting regular screenings – cancer, blood sugar, bone density and others – and when to get them, plus other measures like a healthy diet, plenty of exercise, maintaining vaccines, etc.
