Strides for Seniors Campaign
Every September, Detroit Area Agency on Aging, Detroit Parks and Rec, and St Patrick Senior Center power this month-long campaign celebrating our amazing neighborhood centers – “homes away from home” for thousands. During the month we promote activities across the city, video interviews with seniors, and the importance of meeting the needs of people 55+.
Dynamic, community-centered events and promotion:
Fridays Live: Hosted at different centers each week, these events are attended by over 100 and feature food, live music, dance and exercise, free health screenings, and lots of fun
Healthy Aging Expo: On the last Friday of the month, over 400 seniors, family and friends gather at Detroit’s Palmer Park for a morning of live music and dance, dozens of wellness vendors, a one-mile walk around the park, a boxed lunch, raffles and more!
