Legal Entities 101 on April 1

On April 1, over 30 would be entrepreneurs crowded one of St. Pat’s classrooms for Legal Entities 101 – our first offering in the Ageless Innovation program

Students from Wayne State University and their professors covered many areas – addressing many legal concerns for people looking to start a business or enterprise to better their community.

Topics included Entity Types: Sole proprietorships, partnerships, LLC, PLLC, C-corp., S-corp., and nonprofit organizations. We’ll discuss entity formation considerations, such as the formation process, governance, management structure, liability protections, tax considerations, and financing.

The program was presented in conjunction with Wayne State’s  Law School Business and Community Law Clinic (BCLC). The BCLC provides free legal services to qualifying community-based businesses and nonprofit organizations that aspire to create social good and impact to revitalize Detroit and Michigan.
