Empowering Our Youth

There are dozens of programs at St. Pat supporting Detroiters over 55 – but from time to time we also make our historic facility available to those helping other groups. Tina Skinner – of St Pat Finance/HR – volunteers her time and talent to a program called “Empowering Our Youth.”  On August 27, she brought a group of young people ranging from 8 to 22 down to the center.  They discussed setting goals, thinking about careers, managing money – and in general taking steps to set the stage for successful futures. There were also some guest speakers, including a rep from the Detroit Fire Department, and St. Pat ‘s Adrainne Piner and Adrienne Llanes.  And to top it all off, kitchen chief Temika Wallace provided the refreshments, St. Pat style!  Hats off to Tina (second from right in the picture) for making this happen
