]]> St Pat’s is the place to go for help in determining which benefits you may qualify for – and how you can apply for them.  Our certified MMAP counselors provide advice and assistance in person or over the phone.  Over the years they’ve provided help to thousands of people, helping them navigate the often complicated processes required to apply.

During the pandemic, when it has been more difficult for many to visit government offices, this service has been especially valuable. Our counselors will give you the answers you need – and even help you fill out the applications. You can get it all done at St. Pat!

There are five areas where older adults may qualify:

  • Bridge Card Program
  • Medicaid Qualification
  • Medicare Reimbursement (Part B)
  • Low income prescription subsidies
  • Home Energy Assistance

]]> St. Pat has long provided transportation services – both to and from the center, and to medical appointments.  Over the last two years, this program has become more important than ever. Six days a week, our team of seven drivers pick up dozens of clients – taking them to checkups, specialty appointments, and dialysis.  Many of the people we drive have no other means of transportation, so St Pat is their only option.

One of our clients from Detroit’s west side, who was provided rides to weekly treatments, tells us:  “The guys were so nice. We had nice conversations.  And every day they were here to pick me up before they were supposed to be.  When they dropped me off, they saw me safely inside, too!”

Caregiving for loved ones is a privilege, but it can also be a challenge. Today, many seniors find themselves serving as caregivers for elderly parents or relatives, so they face additional stress as they try to balance their care obligations with life’s other needs and responsibilities.

St Pat’s growing caregiving program can help in two significant ways – and we can also discuss Medicare Waiver/Income Assistance to help defray costs:

  • With our in-home caregiving program, we can help connect people to full-time or part-time care, and we can also provide additional support, including financially, to current caregivers.

  • Our respite care program provides assistance while you run errands, socialize, or just relax and re-charge.  You can take care of yourself while we take care of your loved one.
